GP Blog @ Beaumont Villa

We are extremley pleased to be able to welcome Dr Gaye Dickinson to Beaumont Villa and the University Medical Centre.  As well as providing medical care she will also be providing training to budding GPs.

We are delighted to announce that Beaumont will be offering seasonal flu vaccinations this year on the following dates -
9 October – commencing at 08:30
16 October – commencing at 08:30
These vaccinations are only for certain patient groups and you will shortly be receiving a letter asking you to book an appointment, please speak with one of our support team who will be happy to book an appointment for you.

We are looking forward to welcoming the new students to Plymouth and we are able to confirm that you can register with the University Medical Centre using any of the following methods:

1. Register online @ www.umcplymouth.co.uk
2. Freshers and accommodation fairs on 12, 15, 16, 22 and 23 September at Drake and Pilgrim cafes as well as the Roland Levinsky building
3. Or please drop in at the UMC which is located at the top of campus in Endsleigh Place

Your sexual health is very important to your well being.  We offer a range of sexual health services including testing for Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) and contraception counselling for both males and females by appointment with our Doctors and Nurses.

Condoms are available at reception and we also offer ‘C’ cards (Condom cards) where registered patients can be given a regular supply of Condoms.

We also offer Chlamydia self testing kits at reception and our Nurses offer testing for STIs by appointment.

Our Doctors and Nurses offer a contraception and sexual health screening service and during these sessions our clinicians will discuss various options with you and help you select a suitable method.  Once established on contraception our Nurses will be happy to assist you with repeat prescriptions for oral contraception and depro provera injections.
